Bill Werndl  has simply become the hottest “overnight sensation” in Southern California talk radio.  Tireless efforts have made “Philly Billy” a rare and valued personality in the sports world.  Werndl plays the old-school Philadelphia workhorse, who does real reporting and whose knack for breaking stories is legendary.

Darren Smith is the other half of this dynamic duo.  He joined the XX team when he moved from New York and ESPN Radio, where he produced the Dan Patrick show.  A graduate from St. John’s, this New Yorker started his radio career at WBOX, a local sports station, and soon he was picked up by ESPN.  Escaping the Winters back east, Darren packed up and like Bill found a home in San Diego with XX Sports Radio.
